Spellbreak is Free-to-Play with both Crossplay and Cross-Progression available across all platforms. It was recently announced that development of Spellbreak has ceased, and that the servers will shutdown early 2023.
Testing Phases[ | ]
Spellbreak has had many testing phases during its development.
Access to the testing phases was primarily granted through the purchase of Founder Packs.
They were first purchasable on PC during the Pre-Alpha, and then later on PS4 when Closed Beta 2 began.
You could also gain access on PC for free by signing up for a key on the official website.
- Pre-Alpha | June 1st, 2018 - February 11th, 2019
- Closed Alpha | February 12th, 2019 - October 14th, 2019
- Closed Beta 1 | October 15th, 2019 - January 3rd, 2020
- Alpha testers got access to this phase a week prior on October 9th, 2019.
- Closed Beta 2 | March 3rd, 2020 - July 20th, 2020
Platforms[ | ]
Spellbreak initially launched on 
Steam during the Pre-Alpha testing phase. Once the game entered Closed Alpha, it switched to the 
Epic Games Launcher, with the cited reason being that Steam couldn't meet their demand for tester keys.
As the game entered Closed Beta 1, it opened up for testing on the 
PS4.
When Spellbreak finally released September 3rd, it did so on all the major gaming platforms: PC, PS4, 
Xbox One & 
Nintendo Switch - as well as the GeForce Now game-streaming service.
It would later launch on Steam as well with the Chapter 1 patch.
